Calling new grads: APX year 2 | Sierra

In our first jobs after college — working in Google’s APM Program — Bret and I were given what might be considered an irresponsible amount of responsibility: the freedom to build and launch products. It was a steep learning curve and stressful, but so motivating. (The products turned out okay, too). And it’s the same experience we want for new graduates joining Sierra. So if you’re…

…we're now accepting applications for year two of our APX Program, which offers hands-on experience in both agent engineering and product management. For those interested in pure engineering, we’re also accepting new graduate (or about to graduate) applications for agent engineers. In both roles, you’ll build and ship agents for companies operating in a wide variety of industries — from retail, healthcare, and financial services, to telecoms, travel, and more.

It’s less than two years since Sierra launched our first agents, and we can both safely say building agents is the single best way to get broad-based product experience today. Within your first year, you’ll have a half dozen or more launches under your belt, and have worked with companies large and small, across multiple industries. It won’t always be easy — working at the edge of what’s barely possible never is. But you will learn so much about AI, how to build and launch products, and what it means to partner with some of the world’s most successful businesses. Most important of all, you'll have the opportunity to make an impact — improving the consumer experience for millions of people globally.

The next Horizon in agents

Horizon agents orchestrate outbound and inbound interactions over days or weeks — not just single conversations. A context engine and long-horizon planning turn every interaction into a compounding advantage, so your agents get smarter as your customer relationships deepen. It's Sierra's outcomes-based model at scale: you pay for results, not tokens.

𝜏-voice: benchmarking real-time voice agents on real-world tasks

𝜏-voice is a benchmark for real-time voice agents on 278 grounded customer-service tasks across retail, airline, and telecom. It pairs deterministic, end-to-end task scoring with realistic, controllable audio — diverse personas, environmental noise, and free-form turn-taking.

Outcome-based pricing for AI agents

AI agents executing processes autonomously enable an entirely new pricing model, where you pay only when the software achieves specific, valuable outcomes: outcome-based pricing.
